Carers Month
October 2026
Australia • United Kingdom • Online/Global
A month dedicated to recognising, supporting and celebrating the people who care for others.
Carers Month is an independent, non-profit community directory hosted by The Healers Community Care Collective (HCCC) to connect unpaid carers with complimentary, independently provided community offerings, 1:1 sessions, and group experiences.
Welcome to Carers Month
Carers Month is a community-led initiative created to give unpaid carers an opportunity to pause, connect, experience something for themselves, and feel supported. Throughout October 2026, our directory platform shares complimentary 1:1 sessions, group experiences, dining opportunities, products, and community offers gifted by independent local practitioners, venues, and businesses.
There is no cost to carers. No sales pitches. No obligation. Just an opportunity to take some time for yourself.

A note for carers
The practitioners participating in Carers Month are independent practitioners offering sessions directly to carers. Carers are responsible for making their own enquiries and deciding whether a particular practitioner, modality or session is suitable for them.
We provide practitioner information to help carers explore the sessions available, but we do not provide, supervise or endorse the individual services offered by participating practitioners and are not responsible for the services they provide.
We encourage carers to make their own enquiries and undertake any due diligence they feel is appropriate, including asking the practitioner about their qualifications, experience, insurance, the nature of the session and any other questions they may have before participating.
By contacting or booking with a practitioner, carers are entering into an arrangement directly with that practitioner.
What is Carers Month?
Created for carers, by a community that believes those who care deserve care too.
Who is an unpaid carer?
An unpaid carer is someone who provides ongoing care, assistance or support to a family member, partner, friend or loved one because of disability, illness, mental health, ageing or another circumstance.
You don't need to have a formal carer designation to participate. If you provide unpaid care to someone, this initiative is for you.
Why are we doing this?
Because carers matter too.
People who provide care for others often put their own needs last. Caring can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, isolating and demanding. Finding time, energy and opportunity to do something for yourself isn't always easy.

Want to Offer a Free Session?
Carers Month is made possible by practitioners who are willing to offer something of their own to unpaid carers.
If you’d like to offer free 1:1 sessions or group experiences—at your own venue, using your own insurance, and managing your own bookings—we’d love to hear from you.
-
How it works: With your permission, we’ll publish your practitioner details and session information on the Carers Month website so carers can discover your offering and contact you directly to enquire or book.
-
Your independence: You remain fully responsible for your own sessions, venue, insurance, bookings, and practitioner–carer arrangements.
Other Ways To Get Involved
There are so many ways you can support unpaid carers this October, you don’t need to be a practitioner or offer a one-on-one session to get involved.
Offer a Group Session or Activity
Share something you love with a group of carers. This could be anything from Pilates, yoga, meditation, art, craft, dance, singing, music, cooking, gardening or fitness, through to a creative workshop, comedy show or another activity or experience you think carers would enjoy.
Donate a Voucher, Product or Experience
Give a carer the opportunity to enjoy something just for themselves. You might donate a voucher for your café, restaurant, shop, beauty or wellness business, a class or activity, an experience, treatment, service or other offering. Every contribution, big or small, provides a meaningful opportunity for a carer.
Host a High Tea, Brunch or Special Gathering
Create an opportunity for carers to come together, take a break and enjoy some well-deserved time for themselves. You might host a high tea, brunch, morning tea, picnic, afternoon tea or another relaxed social gathering. It could be as simple or as elaborate as you like, the important thing is creating a welcoming space.
With thanks
Carers Month has been brought to life with the generous creativity, time and support of many people.
